CJ Cooper was bothered by a lack of government response to, and/or media interest in, international incidents during final years of the 20th century, and she wondered if espionage fiction might be an adequate vehicle to educate the public about the reality of terrorism. Stab of Intelligence was near completion on 9/11/2001.
Work on the novel stopped for nearly a year. Then the rewrite began.
Stab of Intelligence, First Prize Winner in the 2005 RockWay Press International Writing Competition, is her first published novel. Stab of Intelligence has become one of RockWay’s best sellers.
Proofreader, copyeditor, freelance writer, former editor of Pen In Hand and instructor in Anne Arundel Community College’s Writer’s Workshop, and an advocate of public education, Cooper currently resides in North Carolina.
